We’ve been seeing these foil boards all over Europe and have wanted to have a go for months now. Thankfully they had multiple boards ready to go and we jumped on the them. These boards are a bit different to the ones most people have seen, they have the motor part way up the mast (foil upright) so that once you’re up and going just the foil is in the water. This event brings some of the best sailors from around the world to compete in a variety of foiling boats such as the Moth and the ETF. The largest fleet at the event though was the Waszp, consisting of 109 boats. This event was a definite improvement on our last with us managing to achieve a 16th and 18th in two races in the fleet of 30. Although that made not sound impressive, it has to be remembered that this is an Olympic fleet with some sailors having sailed to boat well over 10 years.
